Start by determining your smartphone type to ensure compatibility with the Iristick smart glasses. The smart glasses are compatible with Android devices running Android 11 or higher, featuring USB-C host mode and a compatible processor such as Qualcomm Snapdragon, Samsung Exynos, or Google Tensor. For iOS devices, they should be running iOS 15.0 or higher and use an Apple Lightning or USB-C connector.
Note for Samsung users: please be aware that some Samsung phones have a SIM region lock that restricts functionality based on the region of purchase. If necessary, follow Samsung’s instructions to remove the SIM region lock.
As of July 2024, Iristick Services has reached end-of-life (EOL) and is no longer required. All functionalities previously handled by Iristick Services (used with firmware 1.0) have now been fully integrated into the latest software compatible with firmware 2.0. If you still have Iristick Services installed, it’s recommended to uninstall it to avoid conflicts with the new software.
Before you begin, check the Pocket Unit’s battery to ensure it has sufficient charge. To do this, shake the Pocket Unit gently and check the LED indicator. A green light means the charge is above 50%, while yellow or red indicates that the unit needs charging before you proceed.
Next, connect the Pocket Unit to your smartphone using the appropriate connector. For Android and iOS devices(iPhone 15 and later), use the USB-C connector, and for iOS devices (iPhone14 and earlier), use the Apple Lightning connector. After connecting, gently shake the Pocket Unit to activate it. The to indicate that the Pocket Unit is connected to your phone. A pop-up may appear showing a list of compatible Iristick apps, allowing you to choose one to launch or dismiss the pop-up.
Please note that dongles used to convert USB-C to Apple Lightning or vice versa are not compatible.
Use the coaxial cable to connect the Pocket Unit to the Iristick smart glasses. Just click to connect, no twisting or turning. The LED should turn light blue, confirming that the glasses are properly connected.
Once the connection is complete, launch a compatible app you wish to use with the Iristick hardware. A pop-up may prompt you to grant permission for the app to use the external hardware over USB.
